In the coming weeks, Google is expected to announce its new Pixel 9 smartphones. Leaked renders of the phones have made their way on the internet over the past few months, but this could be our best leak yet. In a video posted on TikTok, it shows a hands-on comparison of the Pixel 9 Pro against its predecessor, the Pixel 8 Pro.
The video doesn’t show the software features of the phone. We suspect that these could be dummy units based on leaked design schematics and specifications. Alternatively, it could be the real deal but they weren’t turned on for the video. Either way, it does line up with all the renders and official teasers that have been released so far.
We can’t help but feel that Google’s new Pixel 9 Pro looks very reminiscent of Apple’s iPhones. The sides are nice and flat versus the Pixel 8 Pro which looks more curvy. The design of the camera module, while still massive, looks a lot more sleek and elegant. Overall, the hands-on video suggests that the Pixel 9 Pro could be slightly thicker than the Pixel 8 Pro.
Hopefully the thickness is an indication that the phone could pack a larger battery. Either way, we’ll know for sure in August when Google officially announces the phones. So check back with us in the coming weeks for the details!
