Xiaomi is no stranger when it comes to foldables, but during an event in China, the company officially took the wraps off its first-ever clamshell foldable, the Xiaomi Mix Flip. Based on its specs and features, it is quite an exciting handset, but chances are most of us won’t be able to get our hands on it.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi Mix Flip is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It comes with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. It also boasts a 3500mm2 vapor chamber to help with cooling.
On the display side of things, the Mix Flip has a 4.01-inch external display. This puts it on par with Motorola’s 2024 Razr+ smartphone. It also doesn’t avoid the camera cutouts. This is versus the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 which has a weird notch that eats into the display. As for its internal display, the Mix Flip features a 6.86-inch foldable OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits.
The Mix Flip comes with a dual camera setup. This consists of a 50MP main shooter with an aperture of f/1.7. It is accompanied by a 50MP telephoto camera with an aperture of f/2.0. The phone also packs a 4,780mAh battery that supports 67W HyperCharge for fast charging.
The Mix Flip is priced starting at CNY5,999 (~$824) but unfortunately for now, it seems to be only available in China.
