Back in the day if you wanted a backup power system, you might have to rely on gas-powered generators. While they’re perfectly functional, they can be quite inconvenient. Some are too big to be portable, and the fact that you need to have gas on hand isn’t always feasible. This is why power stations like the Ampace Andes 1500 are a good modern-day alternative.
Fast charging, long-lasting battery
One of the main features of the Ampace Andes 1500 is the fact that it can be fast-charged. Some power stations may require a couple of hours to fully recharge, but thanks to the use of Ampace’s A-Boost technology, you will be able to fully recharge the unit in as quickly as 55 minutes! That’s honestly pretty insane!
If you’re out camping or if you don’t have that much time to stop and charge, 55 minutes is all it takes. You can grab a cup of coffee or a meal and when you’re done, it’s good to go. Also, Ampace has included the use of its state-of-the-art BMS technology. The battery has a lifespan of up to 6,000 cycles, which is achieved not only through the BMS but also thanks to the advanced technology that Ampace leverages in its battery cells.
Based on a quick calculation, if you recharge the power station on a daily basis, it would take you about 16 years before you completely exhaust the battery’s lifespan! There’s a good chance that by then you would have probably upgraded your power station already. This should give you some peace of mind regarding the durability and longevity of the power station’s battery.
Powerful outputs for all your devices
Now, the whole point of a power station is to charge your devices while you’re on the go without access to a power outlet. In this case, you have nothing to worry about with the Andes 1500. It features a host of ports which includes 4x AC outlets, 2x USB-C ports capable of 100W, 4x USB-A ports, 2x 5521 DC ports, and a single car charging port.
With the ability to put out up to 2,400W of power, it can basically charge and power just about anything you might need to bring with you on the go. Using the A-Turbo technology can even give it a power boost of up to 3,600W. Need to bring a toaster, blender, or coffee maker with you on a road trip? No problem! It can even power a hot stove so you can do some cooking in the wild.
Users also don’t have to worry too much about the environmental conditions they are in. Ampace claims that the power station can offer stable power output even in extreme temperatures as low as -20°C and it is also IP55 rated in terms of both dust and water resistance.
Go green with solar
We previously mentioned that one of the selling points of the Ampace Andes 1500 is the fact that it can fast charge in as little as 55 minutes. This will require you to plug it into a wall outlet. If you’re at home this shouldn’t be an issue, but if you’re constantly on the move, then accessing a wall outlet isn’t always possible.
Luckily, Ampace has thought about that and has included support for solar charging. You can pair the Andes 1500 with the company’s solar panels which will let you harness the energy of the sun to offer an alternative way of charging. The unit allows for a maximum solar input of 600W, but keep in mind that solar charging will take slightly longer to fully charge the power station at around 3-5 hours.
Built with safety
We’ve all seen and heard horror stories of batteries exploding in bags and pockets. If you’re concerned about the safety of the Ampace Andes 1500, you don’t have to be. For starters, Ampace has utilized Energy Storage Standard battery management system algorithms to power the power station, similar to algorithms used for large commercial energy storage systems.
They also claim that there are twelve different protection systems in place to ensure that you can use the power station with peace of mind. This includes over/low-temperature protection, over/low voltage protection, overcurrent protection, short circuit protection, and overload protection, just to name a few.
Ampace is also using third-gen semiconductor material, Silicon Carbide, which not only makes the battery more efficient but also makes it run at 20% less heat compared to more traditional components. The company has also designed the power station using high-strength construction with independent core partitioning, so you don’t have to worry too much about dropping it or bumping it against things while moving.
