At the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event, the company unveiled its new Galaxy Buds 3 series alongside their new phones and new wearables. They also started to take pre-orders for the device. Unfortunately, it appears that over in South Korea, Samsung has hit the brakes on Galaxy Buds 3 pre-orders due to quality issues.
According to recent reports, it seems that the silicon ear tips included with the earbuds are pretty fragile. When users tried to swap out the default ear tips for the other sizes, the ear tips tore. For those unfamiliar, the Galaxy Buds 3 uses a ear tip system similar to Apple’s AirPods.
The ear tips themselves are attached to a plastic cup that can be removed from the earbuds by tugging on them. However, some users discovered that the ear tips were too fragile and tore when they tried to remove them. If you’re fine with the default tips, you can leave them as it is, but for those who might need to swap to the other sizes, you’ll want to be extra careful.
So far, Samsung has only stopped pre-orders in South Korea. We’re not sure what the remedy will be here, and if Samsung will issue free replacement ear tips for customers affected by this.
