Earlier, Nothing shared a teaser for the upcoming launch of a new phone. Based on the teaser, it was speculated that this could be the Nothing Phone (2a) Plus. Sure enough, the company has since confirmed it and also revealed that they will officially announce it on the 31st of July.
Nothing will be hosting an event on the 31st of July at 5AM EST. They did not share any details of the phone, except to call it “extraordinary”. Given the naming scheme, we expect that this could be a slight upgrade over the original Nothing Phone (2a), but still less powerful and more affordable than the Nothing Phone (2).
For context, the Nothing Phone (2a) was announced earlier this year. The phone features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1,300 nits. It is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset and comes with 12GB of RAM. The phone also packs a dual camera setup consisting of a 50MP wide main camera and a 50MP ultrawide, with a 32MP front-facing shooter.
We’re not sure what the Plus version of the phone will bring to the table. Maybe a Qualcomm chipset, a larger display, or better cameras. Either way, we’ll find out in the next couple of weeks. If you’re interested, check back with us on the 31st of July for the details.
