The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is undoubtedly a very powerful phone. But one of our issues with the device is that it feels like Samsung has kind of stopped innovating on the hardware front. It is still extremely thick and it looks more or less the same as its predecessors. This is why we’re more excited for the upcoming Xiaomi Mix Fold 4.
In fact, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun shared a teaser image of the upcoming foldable on X. According to his post, it has been revealed that the Mix Fold 4 measures an incredible 9.47mm thin when folded shut, and weighs only 226 grams. For context, the Fold 6 is 12.1mm thin when folded, and weighs 239 grams.
The launch of the Mix Fold 4 will also see Xiaomi steal the crown from Honor. Honor currently has the thinnest foldable phone with its Magic V2, which comes in at 9.9mm. Xiaomi has somehow managed to shave off an extra 0.43mm. It might not seem like a lot, but is still impressive all the same.
Jun also revealed that the handset will make its official debut on the 19th of July. We recently heard that the phone could also be the first of Xiaomi’s foldables to make its way to international markets. Either way, we’ll know more in the next couple of days.
