ETaker M2000 power station: Charge anything, anywhere

It’s not uncommon to see people bring power stations with them while they’re on the road. Compared to gas-powered generators, power stations are a much more elegant and portable solution. There are many power stations out there in the market today, but if you want something small and portable that uses the latest battery tech, then the ETaker M2000 could be the power station for you!

Ergonomic design, easy to carry

One of the immediate things you notice about the ETaker M2000 is its design. It is kind of reminiscent of a computer case. What we like about the design is that ETaker has taken ergonomics into consideration. Power stations can be heavy, so having big and generous handles means it’s easier to bring around.

The company has built the power station using aluminum alloy design, making it lightweight. It measures 11.22″L x 8.5″W x 14″H and weighs around 6lbs, so you should have absolutely no trouble fitting it into the trunk of your car or carrying it around. It also leverages the use of GaN technology, which we will get into in a bit, but it is also what makes the M2000 lightweight while packing a generous amount of battery for its size.

GaN technology

GaN is something you might have heard about when talking about mobile phone chargers. Unlike more traditional chargers that rely largely on silicone components, GaN uses gallium nitride (GaN). This results in chargers that are smaller, more energy efficient, and also safer to a certain extent.

ETaker has taken this technology and applied it to the M2000 power station. Combined with the use of SEMI-SOLID batteries, it has resulted in a small but energy-dense power station. In fact, the company claims that this makes the M2000 30% lighter and 50% smaller compared to other similar power stations.

Speaking of battery, the M2000 packs a 2,008Wh battery. Generally speaking this is more than enough to power most devices, but it can be expanded to two devices in case you need a bit of extra juice. Also, the use of SEMI-SOLID batteries means that it has over 2,000 charging cycles. Assuming you charge it on a daily basis from 0-100%, that means you should get over 5 years worth before the battery starts to lose too much of its charge.

It can go even longer if you only use it and charge it to full occasionally.

High power output

Usually, people bring power stations with them when they need a power source when one isn’t so readily available. This includes instances like camping trips, road trips, and more. Or if you’re having a party in your backyard but you want to power things like a heater, electric stove, kettle, a projector, and more.

The ETaker M2000 will be more than capable of powering most devices you connect to it. It can put out a maximum power of 2400W. There are a total of 15 outlets. This includes 4 USB-A (2x12W, 2x60W), 2 USB-C, 6 AC outputs, 2 DC ports, and 1 Cigarette Lighter. This means that you can charge simple devices like your phone or tablet, to more powerful and power-hungry devices like fans, kettles, and more.

If you’re worried about things like heat and noise, you don’t. The use of the SEMI-SOLID battery and GaN technology allows the M2000 to run much cooler than the competition, while also being about 60% quieter. This is perfect if you need to use it outdoors in the wild and you’re trying to avoid unwanted noise.

Solar charging support

Similar to other power stations, the ETaker M2000 supports solar charging. When paired with the company’s solar charging panels, you can expect to fully recharge the power station in about 2.5 hours. This is great during the day when you might not need to use the power station, so allowing the panels to harness the energy of the sun is perfect.

Speaking of green energy, in addition to solar charging, the M2000 supports wind power of up to 1000W max. Alternatively, the M2000 supports a variety of charging options. You can always plug it directly to a wall outlet where it will hit 70-80% capacity in about an hour, and a full charge in 2 hours.

Charge while you drive

But what if you don’t want to wait? What if you need to charge the M2000 before you reach your destination? Obviously waiting for it to solar charge for 2.5 hours might not always be possible. Luckily, ETaker has taken that into consideration with the ETaker Fleet 1000W (F1000).

This system basically takes advantage of the energy generated by your car to charge the M2000 while you’re on the move. According to ETaker, the F1000 will be able to supply 1kWh of electricity in just an hour. If you attach solar panels to the top of a vehicle, like an RV, you can fully recharge the M2000 in about 2 hours.

You also don’t have to worry too much about compatibility. The company claims that the F1000 will play nicely with 98% of car models out there. Unless you happen to own a vehicle in the 2%, you should be covered.

Pricing & availability

As we said, power stations come in a variety of sizes. Some are designed as home backup systems, while others are designed to be portable power solutions. If you think that the ETaker M2000 power station could be perfect for your needs in terms of portable power, it is available for purchase from ETaker’s website for $1,599. It is normally priced at $2,199 but it appears that the company is having a sale now that reduces its price quite a bit. Alternatively, you can also grab it from Amazon if you prefer doing your shopping there.
