WhatsApp could get support for Google Translate
WhatsApp is one of the most popular messenger apps around the world. It is used in various countries by people who speak all kinds of languages. This means that you might encounter situations where you receive messages in another language. Thankfully, WhatsApp could get Google Translate integration to make that easier.
According to a report from WABetaInfo, it seems that WhatsApp is testing out a new feature for the app. This new feature will basically integrate Google Translate’s Live Translate feature into the app. This will allow users to translate messages within WhatsApp instead of having to open a separate app.
There are already messenger apps that support in-app translation. This includes WeChat, where there is an option to automatically translate messages as they come in. In the past, you would have to copy the message, open a translation app, paste it in, and get the translation.
If you only need to translate a couple of messages, it’s not an issue, but if you need to communicate with people speaking different languages for work, it can get tedious. Since this will apparently rely on Google Translate, the quality of the translation should be on par with the app. We’ll have to test it out for ourselves to get a better idea once the feature is live.
