How to delete messages for yourself on Google Messages

Google Messages is the official text messaging application for Android users. It is packed with features that make texting as fun as instant messaging, thanks to RCS support. It offers end-to-end encryption, real-time spam protection, sharing of high-quality media files, GIFs, and message syncing across devices.

Delete Messages on Google Messages

  1. Launch the Google Messages application on your device.
  2. Go to the chat from which you want to delete a message.
  3. Tap and hold on the desired message to get a row of options at the top.
  4. Tap the trash icon to delete the message.
  5. You will get a pop-up where you need to confirm your decision. Do remember you cannot recover a message one it has been deleted.

This is how you can delete messages for yourself on Google Messages. The app does not support selecting multiple messages. It means you will have no choice but to delete messages one by one or deleting the whole chat.
