Putting together a smart home has never been easier with U-tec

It used to be that putting together a smart home system would be a pricey affair. That was because a lot of the tech back then was new. But these days, it has become a lot more affordable. It has also become considerably easy to setup and integrate with our smart homes, smart displays, and smart speakers. If you’re looking to cobble together a smart home system that won’t ruin you financially, U-tec has a couple of products you should check out.

U-tec A19 Color smart bulb

The smart bulb is probably one of the easiest places to start when it comes to smart home devices. This is because we all have lights in our homes, and smart bulbs use the same fittings as regular bulbs. It’s just a matter of swapping them out.

U-tec has a smart bulb called the A19 Color. The A19 bulb is one of the most common bulbs you can find out there. Unless you’re using very specific or niche types of bulbs at home, you should have no problem finding a home for the U-tec A19 Color.

The U-tec A19 Color bulb boasts 1100 lumens which is incredibly bright. It has a 90+ CRI, and supports as many as 16 million colors! It is also the world’s first WiFi Mesh smart bulb. This allows the bulb to have a more stable connection, a wider coverage for control, and it can automatically reconnect itself if it ever gets disconnected.

One of the standout features is how easy it is to integrate with smart home platforms such as Google Home and Alexa. If you own a Google Assistant or Alexa smart speaker, you can easily control the smart bulb using your voice. Users will also have the flexibility of creating different sets of commands for different rooms. So for example, you could have a set of commands for the living room, bedroom, or study. You can also adjust it on the fly to create specific moods or turn it off.

Like all smart bulbs, there is an accompanying app that will give you remote access to the bulbs. This might be useful if you aren’t home but want to give the impression that someone’s home. Or if you forgot to turn off the lights after you went out, or want to turn them on before you get home.

U-tec Smart Plug

Next up we have the U-tec Smart Plug. One of the benefits of a smart plug is that it basically lets you convert any household appliance into a smart one. For example, if you think it’s too pricey to buy multiple smart bulbs, you can simply connect an existing lamp (or lamps) to a smart plug and control it remotely.

You can use it with other household appliances that you don’t want to upgrade to a smart version as well. This includes fans, TVs, fridges, and more. Similar to the A19 Color, the U-tec Smart Plug offers mesh WiFi connectivity that offers a greater coverage and range as well as more stable connections.

It also plays nicely with digital assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant, so if you own a smart speaker you can control it with your voice. There’s an accompanying app that gives users remote access, and users can also use the app to group different smart plugs together and control them all at once.

This gives users the flexibility to create schedules and timers. This is great for energy efficiency and if you want to cut down on your electricity bills. The U-tec Smart Plug is also designed to be pretty small. You should have no issues plugging it into an outlet behind the TV, a cabinet, and so on.

Pricing & availability

Like we said, one of the draws of U-tec and their smart home products is its price. If you’re interested in getting your hands on either the smart bulb or smart plug, you can do so without breaking the bank. The U-tec A19 Color smart bulb is priced starting at $17.99 for a 1-pack. It gets cheaper if you buy more. As for the U-tec Smart Plug, it is retailing for $14.99 for the 1-pack. You can save about $6 if you opt for the 2-pack which is priced at $23.99.
