Unlike most Android smartphone makers who churn out multiple devices a year, HTC has been keeping it lowkey. Last year the company launched the HTC U23 Pro, and a report from April suggests a new phone could be in the works. Now it looks like we’ll know exactly what it is next week.
This is according to a post on the HTC Taiwan Facebook page where the company is teasing the launch of a new phone. The teaser doesn’t really tell us much except that it will be announced on the 12th of June, 2024. That’s next Wednesday, in case you were wondering.
It was previously speculated that the handset in question could be the successor to last year’s HTC U23 Pro and could be the HTC U24 Pro. It makes sense, unless HTC plans to launch a new series. We heard that it might not be a flagship device either. It is rumored to be a mid-range handset powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3.
It is also rumored to come with 12GB of RAM, support for Bluetooth 5.3, and will run Android 14 out of the box. The HTC U23 Pro came with a 6.7-inch 120Hz display, so hopefully HTC will be maintaining that at the very least. Either way, check back with us on the 12th for the details!
