According to the rumors, the iPhone 16 Pro series is expected to see an increase in display size. This might worry some as the larger displays could result in a phone that’s a bit unwieldy. Thankfully, that might not be a huge issue as the latest rumors are claiming that the iPhone 16 bezels could be shrunk considerably.
This is according to a post on Weibo by user Setsuna Digital. They claim that the iPhone 16 Pro will have a bezel size of 1.2mm, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a bezel size of 1.15mm! For context, the iPhone 15 Pro’s bezels measure 1.71mm, while the iPhone 14 Pro has a bezel size of 2.15mm. This is a massive reduction of around 0.5mm!
Assuming this is true, this should allow Apple to increase the display size of the iPhone without impacting the overall size too much. Reduction in bezel sizes is something many smartphone makers are chasing these days. With smartphone tech peaking, manufacturers need to come up with new ways of changing things up.
Plus, a lot of smartphones tend to boast edge-to-edge displays, so having a reduced bezel helps with the illusion. In any case, take it with a grain of salt for now. Apple will announce the new iPhone 16 series at an event later this year, so we’ll have to wait and see if the rumors about its bezels are true.
