Apple TV could finally be coming to Android

0

If you’re an Android user who happens to have an Apple TV subscription, we might have some good news for you. According to a report from Bloomberg, it seems that Apple is looking to create a native Apple TV app for Android devices.

Apple TV already has an app for Android, but it’s for the Android smart TV platform, not phones. We actually heard rumors back in 2022 that Apple could be developing an app for Android, but that never came to fruition. This new report suggests that Apple is finally knuckling down and making progress for it.

At the moment, Android users who want to watch their Apple TV+ shows have to rely on the Progressive Web App. It is functional and it works, but obviously it isn’t as comprehensive compared to a native app. The report does not mention when the app will be released, so either it could be coming soon or it could take a while.

It might seem a bit weird for Android users to support Apple TV+, but there are plenty of good shows that some users might appreciate regardless of the fact that they would be signing up for a “competing” platform. Either way, we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more info on when the app does eventually launch.
