The interest in electric vehicles is rising. But one of the main concerns for many is the access to charging points. Unlike gas stations, charging points can still be difficult to find depending on where you live. VinFast is hoping to address that by partnering with Bosch to access 700,000 charging points across Europe.
This is crucial if EV companies are hoping to encourage more customers to adopt their vehicles. Range anxiety is still a thing. While the range of EVs have improved greatly over the years, the lack of access to chargers, at least compared to gas stations, has held many back from purchasing one.
VinFast says this partnership will give customers access to Bosch’s charging points. These chargers will also integrate with the company’s smartphone app and infotainment system so that drivers can manage their charging. Bosch themselves are aiming to have a total of 850,000 charging points by the end of the year.
According to Ms. Le Thi Thu Trang, the CEO of VinFast Europe CEO, “This partnership with Bosch ensures our customers have access to a reliable and extensive network, fostering a smooth transition to electric mobility. We continue to prioritize our customer’s needs, and this collaboration aligns perfectly with that philosophy.”
