Following the roll-out of Nothing OS 2.5.5 for Nothing’s newer devices a while back, the company recently announced that it’s finally brought over its latest firmware update for its first-generation handset, the Nothing Phone 1. The new update comes with a ton of different bug fixes and security updates, in addition to the much-awaited ChatGPT integration.
With that being said, Nothing has listed the following updates:
New gesture option in the Nothing X app for starting a voice conversation with ChatGPT. Works via Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a). Coming soon to other Nothing audio products.
Added new ChatGPT Widgets for fast and easy access from your home screen.
Added a button on the screenshot and clipboard pop-up to directly paste content to a new conversation in ChatGPT.
Added an option for the Nothing Icon Pack to be applied only to the home screen, for improved accessibility in the app drawer.
You can now scroll through pages on the home screen while holding app icons for a more intuitive experience while organising icons.
Added a custom option for enabling/disabling the Quick Setting swipe-down page on the lock screen interface.
New options for customising icons within the status bar.
Added RAM Booster feature.
General improvements and bug fixes.
The Nothing Phone 1 was the company’s first-ever smartphone, and was launched back in 2022. With that being said, users can check their Phone 1 for updates by going to Settings > System > System Update.
