Huawei Pura 70 series announced with a unique camera feature

0

Huawei used to be one of the leading smartphone manufacturers when it came to smartphone innovation. But ever since the US government sanctioned the company, Huawei has kind of been playing it somewhat safe. It looks like they might have found their mojo again with the newly launched Huawei Pura 70 series.

The lineup consists of four models. The Pura 70, the Pura 70 Pro, the Pura 70 Pro Plus, and the Pura 70 Ultra. The Ultra model is probably the most interesting out of the lineup as it comes with a pretty amazing camera setup, at least on paper. According to its specs, it features a 1-inch sensor and a variable aperture of f/1.6-f/4.0.

It also boasts a retractable main camera which is pretty cool, although we’re not sure of its exact purpose. Huawei is also claiming that its cameras are designed for high-speed photography and can clearly capture a car traveling at speeds of 300kmph! Apart from its camera, the rest of the specs are more or less identical across the board.

We’re talking about the use of a Kirin 9010 chipset (this hasn’t been confirmed by Huawei), a 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,500 nits. It also supports 100W wired charging, 80W wireless charging, reverse wireless charging, an IP68 rating, and in-display fingerprint sensors.

Given Huawei’s current situation, the Huawei Pura 70 series won’t be making its way stateside. It’s a shame as we are curious about how the camera handles. The Pura 70 Ultra is being sold for 9,999 yuan (~$1,381) while the base Pura 70 model will go for 5,499 yuan (~$760).
