The other day, TikTok confirmed that they are working on a new app called TikTok Notes. This would basically be a platform that would let users post photos instead of videos. Now according to a report from Android Authority, the app is now live, but you might not be able to download it yet.
According to the report, it seems that users in Canada can download TikTok Notes from Google Play and Apple’s App Store. This isn’t that surprising as sometimes apps tend to launch in other regions first. This is done to iron out any kinks. It can also prevent server crashes or outages due to an influx of signups.
We’re not sure when the app will make its way to other regions like the US. We’ll just have to wait and see. It’s actually an interesting move on TikTok’s end. TikTok was designed as a new social media platform that focuses on video. The rise in the popularity of the app saw other platforms like Instagram rush to launch similar features.
TikTok Notes seems almost like a step backwards, but perhaps TikTok is hoping to court more users who might find it harder to gain traction on already-established platforms like Instagram. It remains to be seen if TikTok Notes will become the new Instagram. But it could be worth checking out when it’s available in your region.
