Motorola’s mission to step up its premium smartphone offerings is at full-speed ahead, and the company has just announced a new wave of high-end handsets under its Moto Edge line, which consists of the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, Edge 50 Pro, as well as Edge 50 Fusion. With that in mind, the new handsets definitely go all-out in terms of design, with stylish looks all around.
Additionally, Motorola also says that the new phones feature its Moto Ai functionality, which includes GenAI functions in addition to the buit-in AI editing tools found in Google Photos; all phones also run on Android 14 and feature similar specs such as 6.7-inch displays, although a closer look reveals some key differences.
The top dog in this lineup is the Edge 50 Ultra, which runs on Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip with up to 16GB of RAM. The phone packs a stunning 144Hz pOLED display in addition to a triple-camera system with a 50MP main sensor, and is powered by a 4,500 mAh battery which supports 125W fast-charging. Interestingly, Motorola has opted to offer the Edge 50 Ultra in Wood and Vegan Leather design options, which help to set it apart from most other premium phones on the market.
Featuring a slightly lower-tier Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro. It offers a triple-camera system with a 50MP main sensor and a 4500 mAh battery with 125W charging, while memory and storage max out at 12GB and 512GB, respectively. It is available in Vegan Leather, although it skips a wood back option.
Finally, we have the Edge 50 Fusion – Motorola’s most affordable option from this series packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip, a larger 5000 mAh battery compared to its siblings, and a more modest dual-camera system with a 50MP main sensor. It features a curved-edge pOLED display and likewsie comes in Vegan Leather design options.
As for availability, the phones are expected to arrive for markets in Europe, Africa and the Middle East – The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra will be available in May for £849, while the Edge 50 Pro is available earlier starting April 16th for £599; the Edge 50 Fusion meanwhile arrives in mid-May for £349. No US prices have been announced at the moment, but we’re hoping that changes soon.
