If you’re subscribed to Electronic Arts’ “EA Play” subscription service, then you might have been one of many who received an email from the company detailing an incoming increase for EA Play, which will affect all tiers within the platform. The price changes are expected to take effect starting on may 10, 2024.
As such, subscribers can expect the standard EA Play tier to increase prices from $4.99 to $5.99, with the annual fee rising from $29.99 to $39.99. Meanwhile, the EA Play Pro subscription will also increase in price, going from $14.99 to $16.99, as well as the annual membership which goes up from $99.99 to $119.99.
For those unfamiliar with the service, EA Play is a subscription-based video game service covering titles from the publisher, and is available for users on the Xbox One and Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and 5, as well as Microsoft Windows platforms. It provides players with access to selected EA games, and does pack in a number of exclusive incentives as well.
With all that being said, EA is only the latest of several companies to raise prices on subscription platforms, following Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass and Sony’s PlayStation Plus price increases.
