Following the arrival of its “Circle to Search” function on the Pixel 7 a few weeks ago, Google recently announced that it will be bringing over the new AI-powered search feature to more Pixel smartphones, beginning this week.
As such, all of the Tensor-powered Pixel smartphone models – including the Pixel 6 series, Pixel 7a and 6a, Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet – will receive Circle to Search, which does put back a bit of confidence in Google’s plans for AI software on its older phones. Circle to Search works by letting users tap and hold on their navigation bar, and draw a circle around an image anywhere on their screen to initiate the Google search function.
With that being said, the feature might be exclusive to Google’s Tensor-powered Pixel phones, as most of its older handsets including the Pixel 5 and 4 series have pretty much reached EOL status, with most of them receiving their final software updates last year.

Additionally, the feature will make its way to several Samsung devices, including the Galaxy S23 series, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5, and Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series.
