The app provides details like show/movie synopsis, genre, cast, number of seasons/episodes, average rating, user reviews, where you can watch.

It offers alerts when new episodes or seasons are released for the shows you are tracking. All shows are divided into four categories: Watching, Up-To-Date, Finished, and Stopped. These are meant to reflect shows you are currently watching, have watched till the latest season available, have completed the show, and have stopped tracking in-between respectively.

There is a stats section featuring interesting insights into your watching habits. Other features include the ability to add shows to watch later, comment on each show/episode, vote for your favorite characters, follow other users on the app, and get personalized suggestions.


Hobi is an app dedicated to TV shows tracking and has a collection of over 50,000 titles. The setup process includes choosing at least three shows you have watched or are planning to watch. If there is a show that you have watched till the latest season or episode, it will show the time the next episode/season will release if the date has been announced. The app has a Discover section to help you find new shows and a Statistics section to offer in-depth stats and insights. And yes, it also supports Trakt syncing for those who use the service.

The app has a Premium subscription to unlock additional benefits like unlimited devices, no ads, advanced stats, advanced sorting filters, customized notifications, and hourly Trakt syncing instead of once a day. The subscription can be availed by either paying an annual or a lifetime fee.


Showly is an open-source app where you can track shows and movies either manually or by syncing through Trakt. The home screen shows current progress for the titles you have chosen to track. You can easily search shows and check details like where they are available, cast, synopsis, number of seasons/episodes, and review/ratings from IMDb, Trakt, Metascore, and Rotten Tomatoes.

You can create a collection of shows you are watching based on your preferences. It allows hiding shows if you do not want them to appear in any of the sections of the app. However, it does not offer statistics and insights if that is something you are interested in. You can easily check details of each show including cast, synopsis, what platform to stream on, and Trakt rating. And yes, you can link your Trakt account with the app too. There is support for statistics but those are pretty basic ones. It also has a paid subscription including a 30-day free trial that you can subscribe to get some more features.


Cinexplore is the only app in this list that has its home screen set to the Discover page. The next two tabs are meant for browsing movies and TV shows you are watching or have watched in the past. The Schedule tab is the fourth one that will offer you details about what episode you should watch next. It also offers stats but those are just good enough and not exactly in-depth.

It is an ad-supported app but those can be removed by paying for the premium version. This will offer you some extra benefits with an emphasis on the customization aspect.
