As far as premium smartphones are concerned, Honor’s Magic 6 Pro is certainly up there with the biggest players in the industry, thanks to a premium design and capable hardware. With that in mind, the company recently expanded its Magic 6 phone lineup with the announcement of the Magic 6 Ultimate, and Magic 6 RSR Edition.
In particular, the Magic 6 Ultimate seeks to compete with rival devices such as the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which is probably at the top of the Android smartphone food chain at the moment. Honor’s pretty confident though that its newest flagship-tier device will be enough to give buyers a reason to make the switch.
In front is a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display, with a 1280×2800 pixel resolution and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. There’s no Corning Gorilla Glass here though, and instead we get a uniquely-named “Glory King Kong Rhinoceros Glass” panel protecting the display.
Perhaps one of the biggest noticeable changes about the Magic 6 Ultimate is the camera module on the rear panel, which features an angular design instead of a round one. This houses a trio of cameras including a 50-megapixel primary lens, 180-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera. Selfie duties are handled by a 50-megapixel camera with depth capabilities.
Powering the Magic 6 Ultimate is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which is aided by up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. There’s also an Adreno 750 GOU for graphics, as well as a 5,600 mAh battery which supports 80W fast charging capabilities.
There’s a catch though – right now the phone is only available in China starting at 6999 Chinese Yuan, which converts to roughly $970 USD. Hopefully we see the Magic 6 Ultimate make its way to more markets soon, as Honor continues to expand its presence worldwide.
