We’re Now Getting Round Icon Apps for Google TV

If you own a Google TV-compatible device, then you might notice some new changes to your TV menu’s layout, particularly with the app design. Google recently announced that it will be changing the way that apps will look within Google TV’s interface, which should roll out gradually to more and more users in the coming days. According to an official post:

“You may notice your apps taking a different shape on your Google TV For You screen. Starting today, and rolling out to all devices over the next few months, we’re introducing some new updates to the “Your apps” row, giving you a sleeker, more streamlined look, making it easier to access your favorite apps.”

In addition to the new circular icons, users will also get new access to free TV channels, which will be accessible in the “Your apps” row and will include content from local new, movies, sports and more, all of which can be watched without the need for subscriptions or payments. Other apps will likewise join the Your apps row for easier access to frequently-used apps.

Finally, the update also allows users to reorganize and add apps to the Your apps row, adding a bit of much-welcome personalization to the Google TV menu.
