The ASUS Rog Phone 8 Goes on Sale for the US

0

While it’s been a bit of time since the initial unveiling of the ASUS ROG Phone 8, it did take ASUS a while before formally launching the device in the US – as such, mobile gaming enthusiasts in North America can finally get their hands on the ASUS ROG Phone 8, which brings a ton of new features packed into a powerful little smartphone.

Most notable about the ROG Phone 8 is its toned-down design, which sheds some of the angular accents that were frequently seen on older ROG phone models. It still retains some gamer-centric design features on the rear panel though, which helps set it apart from the rest of the Android smartphone market.

In front is a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a 165Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,500 nits, encased in a chassis that also features an IP68 rating. The phone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset backed by an improved cooling system, although users can opt for an extra accessory that provides an external fan to cool the phone during play.

There’s also a decent camera setup on the ROG Phone 8 which includes a 50MP main lens with 6-Axis Hybrid Gimbal Stabilizer 3.0, a 13MP ultrawide sensor with free-form lens, and a 32 MP telephoto with 3X optical zoom and OIS.

The ASUS ROG Phone 8 series is now available starting at MSRP $1099.99 to $1499.99 at Abt Electronics, Amazon (By Mobile Advance), Asus eShop, and Newegg. Buyers who pre-order are eligible for an early bird offer that is valid until 3/24 while supplies last.
