While it was somewhat predictable that we’d get a ton of new mobile devices shown off during Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona, it did come as a bit of a surprise when Nubia announced its second-gen Nubia Pad 3D II, which gives users the ability to enjoy glasses-free 3D effects on a portable device.
According to Nubia, the Pad 3D II comes with an 80% increase in 3D resolution and a 100% boost in 3D brightness, resulting in vibrant and even more realistic images. Optimizations have also been made with regards to 3D crosstalk, 3D color, and 3D power efficiency, for an overall improved experience.
“AI” has certainly become the new big add-on for a lot of mobile device manufacturers as of late, and the Nubia Pad 3D II isn’t one to be left behind – the company says that its tablet is equipped with an AI eye-tracking engine with enhanced response speed, allowing the tablet to accurately position 3D images to users in real-time. Combined with the 86-degree viewing angle, the tablet does promise a more natural 3D image viewing experience.
Another feature that the tablet packs is the included support for Neovision “3D Anytime” Technology, which uses powerful hardware and software to convert 2D images into 3D in real-time. It’s based on an advanced AI neural network, and works on different kinds of content including photos, games, videos, and more. The Nubia Pad 3D II also comes with a dual-camera setup that allows users to take 3D photos, similar to what the Nintendo 3DS did before.
Other hardware details include a large 12.1-inch display with a sharp 2.5K resolution and 144Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, with up to 512GB of storage, a large 10,000 mAh large battery with 66W fast charging, as well as 5G connectivity.
