The Huawei Pocket 2 is here, but you can’t get your hands on it

Huawei recently teased the launch of the Pocket 2 foldable phone. For those who have been looking forward to the handset, wonder no more as the Pocket 2 has since been officially announced.

One of the key features of the Huawei Pocket 2 are its cameras. There are actually four cameras on the exterior of the phone. This includes a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultrawide, an 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a somewhat novel 2MP UV sensor. The last sensor seems a bit gimmicky. Huawei claims that it can be used for discovering skin spots if you’re interested in that kind of thing.

The inner foldable display measures 6.94-inches when unfolded. There is an external display measuring 1.15-inches. This is quite a big difference from other clamshell foldables like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 which opted for a larger external display. If you value larger external displays, then this might not be the phone for you.

As for the chipset of choice, it is currently unclear what chipset Huawei has opted for. It does come with 12GB of RAM and goes up to 1TB in terms of storage. It also packs a 4,520mAh battery and is priced starting at around $1,000. The Huawei Pocket 2 is currently only available in China. It is unclear if there are plans to bring it to global markets.
