If you’re in the market for a brand-new smartwatch to take along on your runs, then you might want to check out Garmin’s new Forerunner 165 series devices. Priced starting at $249, the Forerunner 165 comes in two editions which include a base model, in addition to a variant with music-playback capabilities.
The Forerunner 165 series also features a 1.2-inch AMOLED display making it easier to see outdoors, in addition to a myriad of features – the watch comes with the usual heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, as well as Garmin’s Body Battery feature, although there’s also support for run-centric functionality, which lets users take a look at their stats, performance, and plan their own custom routes and workouts.
With support for both Android and iOS smartphones, the Forerunner 165 watches also feature around 11 days of battery life on average, or 19 hours on GPS mode. There’s also support for on-device payments with Garmin Pay, although this will only work with supported service partners.
For the music edition, users can pair their wireless headphones to the watch, in addition to onboard storage for music downloads from platforms including Spotifty, Deezer and Amazon Music.
