Motorola Solutions recently announced that it has finalized its acquisition of Silent Sentinel, a UK-based company that specializes in long-range camera hardware. The full terms of the deal have not been disclosed by Motorola however, although it looks like the acquisition serves to strengthen the company’s approach to security hardware platforms.
Motorola says that its acquisition of Silent Sentinel will expand its portfolio of fixed video cameras, adding to Motorola’s existing ventures into end-to-end video security solutions. Mahesh Saptharishi, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Motorola states:
“Long-range cameras enable advanced insights that can protect individuals and infrastructure… With Silent Sentinel, we’re broadening our video security portfolio to help secure and support essential operations and industries around the world.”
Silent Sentinel develops thermal cameras used for military, aviation, maritime and critical infrastructures. Paul Elsey, Managing Director at Silent Sentinel comments:
