Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 could get a battery upgrade!

0

Compared to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 has a smaller battery. It makes sense because the Fold 5 is larger and needs more battery to power the larger display. If you thought that the Flip 5’s battery life could do with an improvement, then you’re in luck as the Galaxy Z Flip 6 could introduce an upgraded battery.

GalaxyClub.nl is reporting that for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6, the company could be planning on upgrading the battery of the phone. The Flip 5, right now, has a battery capacity of 3,700mAh. The report claims that for the Flip 6, Samsung could bump it up to a capacity of 4,000mAh. This puts it on par with the base Samsung Galaxy S24 model.

Keep in mind that this is the advertised battery capacity. In reality, the “rated” battery size will be 3,887mAh. This is a combination of a 1,097mAh and 2,790mAh battery. Either way, it will still be bigger compared to the previous model which is a good thing. Exactly how much more battery life this translates to remains to be seen, but larger batteries are always welcome.

The Flip 6 will launch later this year, possibly around Q3. It will launch alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 6, and if the rumors are true, we could also see a cheaper version of the Fold 6.
