Based on the specs of the Xperia 1 V, the Xperia 1 VI’s cameras will have a slightly wider aperture for the main lens and increased range for both the ultrawide and telephoto. It’s a bit odd that Sony isn’t using their own 1-inch sensors for the phone. The company worked with Xiaomi to launch 1-inch sensors for the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, so we’re not sure why they aren’t using their own technology.
We would honestly much prefer to see a wider sensor, but if the reports are accurate, the changes to the Xperia 1 VI’s cameras are still a good thing. Users can look forward to faster and more accurate focusing, better low-light shooting, and more. Take this leak with a grain of salt, but we should have more details at MWC 2024 next month.
