ASUS debuts portable OLED monitor with a foldable display

A problem that most laptop users face is the fact that the displays are quite small. Even larger 16-inch laptops still have screens that are considerably smaller than most displays you would find at home or at the office. To be fair, laptops are created to be portable so it makes sense, but ASUS is here with a solution in the form of a portable monitor.

The company has taken the wraps off its latest display at CES 2024. This comes in the form of the ASUS ZenScreen Fold. Portable monitors aren’t new, but what ASUS has done here is they have taken foldable display technology and applied it to a monitor. This results in a 17.3-inch screen that can be folded and brought around with you on the go.

The specs of the ASUS portable monitor include a resolution of 2560×1920, a gamut that covers 100% of DCI-P3, along with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500. While its size doesn’t make it much bigger than some larger laptops out there, it could still be useful for those who like having a second display to work with. Plus the fact that it’s foldable and thus portable makes it pretty convenient.

The only downside to the ASUS ZenScreen Fold is its price. Coming in at $2,000, this is not a cheap display. You can get an entire laptop (or multiple) for that price, but if you value having a second screen that you can bring with you on the go, then this could be worth it. ASUS plans on putting it on sale in Q2 2024.
