Android Auto and Google built-in will be getting some useful updates

Our cars have gotten a lot more complex and functional over the years. No longer just content with being a vehicle that takes us from point A to point B, modern day cars come with a lot of comfort and amenities.

At CES 2024, Google has announced some updates that they will be introducing to cars with Android Auto and also cars with Google built-in.

With Android Auto, Google will be updating the platform where compatible EVs can share their car’s real-time battery information with the platform. This means that if you’re using Google Maps while driving, the system will be able to provide you with an estimated battery life upon arrival.

This will come in handy for trip planning and also if you think you might need to stop along the way to recharge your car. Some of the first EVs that will be able to make use of this include the Ford Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning.

Google also announced some updates for cars with Google built-in. This update will introduce the Chrome browser to your vehicle. This will give users something to do while their cars are parked, like while you’re waiting for someone or if you have some time to kill and need to check on something. Users will also be able to stream shows from PBS KIDS and Crunchyroll.

Google will also be bringing The Weather Channel app to cars with Google built-in. Users can now check on hourly weather forecasts and receive alerts on their dashboards.
