The continued onslaught of modern smart projectors on the consumer electronics market is certainly an impressive sight to see, especially given the amount of hardware onboard newer products. As such, manufacturer XGIMI recently introduced some impressive new projector tech at CES 2024 – what can you expect though?
First up is XGIMI’s HORIZON Max, which according to the company is the world’s first Long Throw smart projector that packs IMAX Enhanced certification, which packs refinements to ISA and Dual Light technologies.
XGIMI’s ISA 5.0 (Intelligent Screen Adaptation) technology features hardware and software enhancements alongside a fully automated motorized gimbal that allows it to locate the best projection positioning on available settings, and even remember settings for specific walls for added convenience. For example, users can use the HORIZON Max for gaming on one side of the room and then project movies on the other, with the projector seamlessly transitioning when moved between walls.
XGIMI adds that the HORIZON Max includes updated Dual Light 2.0 technology, which integrates a triple laser system for an extended color range, as well as a phosphor light to reduce visual imperfections. The projector’s optical engine is equipped with MCL lasers commonly used in commercial theaters, resulting in a more cinematic experience with an ultra-wide color gamut, ultra-high brightness (3,100 ISO Lumens), ultra-high contrast (2000:1 native contrast ratio) and ultra-high color accuracy.
XGIMI will bring its updated Dual Light 2.0 and ISA 5.0 technologies to more of XGIMI’s lineup in 2024, including portable and home projectors.
Attendees to CES 2024 will also be able to check out “Aladdin”, which XGIMI describes as a 3-in-1 projector that also functions as a smart ceiling lamp and speakers. It features a 0.7:1 projection ratio, and is set to launch in Japan in June 2024.
XGIMI also announced partnerships with Google TV for content and entertainment initiatives, as well as chip manufacturer MediaTek, which will provide components for upcoming XGIMI products. CES attendees can visit the XGIMI booth on January 9-12.
