Sony Xperia 5 V Receives Android 14 Update

Android 14 is finally arriving for more devices, and we’ve seen a ton of manufacturers release Google’s latest OS upgrade for their respective handsets. Following the update for devices including the Sony Xperia 1 V, it looks like the Japanese tech giant has started rolling out the new Android 14 update for the Xperia 5 V.

The update was announced via Sony’s social media pages for its Xperia brand. As per the announcement:

Now Xperia 5 V gets the OS update to Android 14 with various features.

Among several main updates, Flash notifications is a new feature that can be said to replace the notification LED.

Flash the camera light or the screen when you receive notifications or when alarms sounds. You can also customize the colour of flash from 12 colours.

As mentioned, Android 14 for the Sony Xperia 5 V comes with enhancements for features such as flash notifications, which can be used to replace the notification LED’s function – Xperia 5 V owners can use the new feature for alarms and notifications for example, and even customize the flash notification’s color from 12 different hues.

Of course, the new update also comes with improvements and fixes to device security, in addition to several of Google’s built-in features with Android 14.
