The Pixel 8 Pro is about to gain a bunch of new AI powered features

0

Google recently announced Gemini AI. This is Google’s answer to OpenAI’s GPT-4, but Google is actually launching several iterations of it, which includes Gemini Nano, a version designed for Android smartphones. One of the first phones that will be able to take advantage of the new AI is the Pixel 8 Pro.

Google has announced that Gemini Nano will be coming to the Pixel 8 Pro as part of the December 2023 Pixel Feature Drop. Some of the AI-powered features users can expect include the ability to create a summary of audio recordings in the Recorder app, so if you’re conducting an interview or recording a lecture, Gemini Nano will be able to summarize it to make it easier for you to refer to later on.

The AI will also be making its way into Gboard’s Smart Reply by offering up suggestions on your messages based on the conversation you’re currently having. It will be available to try using WhatsApp, but Google says that support for more apps will be coming later.

Gemini Nano will also play a role in the Pixel 8 Pro’s cameras, where the Video Boost feature will help users transform their regular video footage taken by the phone’s camera to something more professional, where the AI can help adjust color, lighting, offer up stabilization, reduce graininess, and more.

These are just some of the awesome new features that Pixel 8 Pro owners can look forward to once the update rolls out, so do keep an eye out for that update notification when it is eventually released!
