OnePlus 12’s display could be blindingly bright

0

When it comes to smartphone displays, a lot of people pay attention to things like size, refresh rate, resolution, and display panel type. But if there is one thing that some people overlook, it would be the display brightness.

That would be something that’s hard to miss in the upcoming OnePlus 12. According to a post on Weibo, it has been hinted that the OnePlus 12 is expected to pack an insanely bright display where it is said to be capable of hitting a peak brightness of 4,500 nits! For context, phones like the Galaxy S23 Ultra have a peak brightness of 1,750 nits, so for the OnePlus 12 to hit 4,500 nits is more than double that.

Why is display brightness important? For starters, it makes using the phone under direct sunlight a lot easier, which might be important for those who are outdoors quite often. Secondly, it has the potential to help save battery life. A phone that has a greater range of brightness means that users have more options when it comes to dimming their displays while keeping it legible.

The OnePlus 12 is expected to be officially announced on the 5th of December where some of its specs include a series of cameras found in the OnePlus Open and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
