The OnePlus 12 cameras could be impressive

A lot of what makes a phone “great” these days are its cameras. A powerful phone but with subpar cameras is kind of pointless, especially since people tend to use their cameras more than care about how fast their chipsets are or what kind of fabrication process was used or how many cores it has.

Thankfully, the upcoming OnePlus 12 is expected to come with an impressive set of cameras. It turns out that the phone will end up reusing the same cameras found in the OnePlus Open foldable phone and the Oppo Find N3.

Why is this a good thing? In our review of the OnePlus Open, we found that the cameras on the handset were surprisingly impressive for a foldable phone. Usually cameras on foldables take a backseat to its foldable display technology, but the OnePlus Open is the exception and assuming it’s the same hardware and software powering the cameras, then the OnePlus 12 should be able to get some pretty impressive results.

Also, the fact that the OnePlus 12 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset will no doubt help in the image processing side of things. We’ll obviously have to get our hands on the device to try it for ourselves, but for now it seems pretty promising.
