The OnePlus Watch is a decent smartwatch. It has everything you might need from a smartwatch in terms of health and fitness tracking capabilities, the ability to receive notifications from your watch, and it is also a pretty affordable smartwatch.
The only issue we had with the device is that it runs a custom operating system instead of the more widely-used Wear OS by google. If the lack of Wear OS was what held you back from buying the original model, then you might want to keep an eye out for its successor because according to tipster Max Jambor, the OnePlus Watch 2 could run on WearOS.
#OnePlusWatch2 Design has been revealed in some gorgeous looking renders by @OnLeaks – I’ve seen quite a few comments asking about the OS it runs though.
Let me reveal to you: The all new OnePlus Watch2 will run WearOS 4 ✅

The post claims that the watch will run on Wear OS 4 which means that users will be able to access the Play Store and download all the apps and watch faces that are available for Wear OS devices. It should also offer up tighter integration with Android. That being said, we have to wonder if the jump to Wear OS could have an impact on price.
As we said earlier, one of the things that the OnePlus Watch has going for it is its price. At $159, it’s relatively affordable, but we’re not sure if using Wear OS could potentially see a hike in price. Either way, we’ll most likely have to wait until next year to find out more, but in the meantime who else is excited about the OnePlus Watch 2 potentially switching to Wear OS?
