If you want to be able to play songs on demand and not deal with ads while listening to Spotify, you would need to subscribe to Spotify Premium. We reckon that the price for the features you’re getting is pretty worth it, but now it looks like it’s going to get even better value for money.
Spotify has announced that for its US Premium subscribers, they will be getting access to over 200,000 audiobooks as part of their subscription. Users will be able to listen to up to 15 hours per month, but if you hit that cap, you will be able to purchase additional hours in 10-hour top-ups.
The company claims that 15 hours should be more than enough for about two average audiobooks, so unless you’re an avid consumer of audiobooks, that should be good enough for most people. This is a pretty great addition to the Spotify Premium feature list because audiobooks are a great way of consuming books if you don’t have time to read them.
Putting them on in the background while at the gym or while you’re commuting to work is a great way to enjoy books in an alternative manner. For our international readers, Spotify did not mention if there are plans to bring this feature to regions outside of the US, but hopefully they will!
