Could the next Samsung Galaxy Z Fold finally have a dedicated S Pen slot?
When Samsung first introduced S Pen support to its non-Note series of devices, there was a problem and that was there was no dedicated slot to store the stylus when not in use. This was rectified with later models, but not all of Samsung’s smartphones have it, like its Galaxy Z Fold series of foldable phones.
That could change in the future, according to a report from Studimo, who together with @xleaks7 discovered a patent that reveals Samsung’s potential plans to introduce a dedicated S Pen slot in its foldable phones.

The patent reveals two possible designs. One of the designs is where there will be a groove on the back of the Galaxy Z Fold for the stylus to be stored in. The other is where the stylus will be mounted on the side of the phone, presumably using magnets. One of the benefits of these designs is that it doesn’t require Samsung to carve out a special slot inside of the phone to fit the stylus, thus allowing the already-thick phone to maintain its size.

The downside is that it seems that either of these solutions could result in users losing their stylus quite easily, especially the side-mounted version where we imagine that it could be quite easy to knock the stylus loose.
That being said, keep in mind that these are only patents which means that there’s no guarantee Samsung will make it a reality, so don’t get your hopes up at seeing it anytime soon, if at all.
