Samsung reveals which of its phones will be getting Android 14

Yesterday, Samsung started to roll out the Android 14 update to Galaxy S23 owners as part of its One UI 6 update. For those who own older or other Samsung phones, you might be wondering when your device will get the update. According to Samsung’s website, here are the list of smartphones that will be eligible for the update.

Samsung does not mention when the update will be released for these other devices, but as long your device is listed above then it should arrive eventually. Unlocked variants typically recevie the update first with carrier varients sometimes receiving the update 1-2 months later.

There is something we should point out though and that is how the Galaxy S20 and Note 20 phones are listed. When those devices were released, Samsung promised three major Android OS updates for these handsets. As they were launched with Android 10, they were eventually updated to Android 11, Android 12, and Android 13.

This means that technically, the Galaxy S20 and Note 20 phones shouldn’t be part of the Android 14 update schedule unless Samsung decided to change their minds and be generous with one more update. Either way, if you own either the Galaxy S20 or Note 20, we’ll have to wait and see if these devices will be updated to Android 14 or if their inclusion was a mistake.
