TIME Magazine Includes the Nokia G22 among its Best Inventions of 2023

Nokia’s efforts towards giving buyers the ability to repair their own devices is one of the more refreshing approaches to modern smartphones that we’ve seen in recent times. As such, it looks like the Nokia G22 – which the company marketed with an emphasis on easy repairability – made TIME Magazine’s list of “Best Inventions of 2023” thanks to this feature.

Nokia Mobile’s official social media account shared this achievement, which places the G22 among 199 other products/devices to come out this year.

According to the official TIME Magazine entry:

Last year, about 5.3 billion mobile phones fell into disuse. This waste has led to a push for tech that can be fixed more easily rather than replaced. Nokia’s G22 is the latest, most advanced phone to be fully repairable. Anyone with a small screwdriver and five minutes can replace its screen, charging port, or battery—the parts that most often break, says Lars Silberbauer, chief marketing officer at manufacturer HMD Global—keeping it off the scrap heap.

In terms of hardware, the phone comes with a Unisoc T606 chipset, a 6.5” HD+ display upfront with a 90Hz refresh rate, a 50MP main camera with 2MP macro and depth cameras, and an 8MP front-facing camera. Powering the phone is a 5050 mAh battery, which Nokia brands as a “QuickFix” repairable battery.
