Xiaomi has recently confirmed that they will be launching the Xiaomi 14 on the 26th of October and it will be the first smartphone to utilize Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. But it looks like Vivo sub-brand iQOO won’t be too far behind.
According to a report from GSMArena, it is said that iQOO is planning on launching their next-gen flagship phone in November, the iQOO 12, and that the phone will also be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Assuming there are no other phone launches in between, the iQOO 12 could be the second phone in the world to use the latest Qualcomm chipset.
The event is rumored to be taking place on the 7th of November, a couple of weeks after Xiaomi’s event. Some of the rumored specs of the iQOO 12 includes the use of a dedicated display processor that will support hardware-accelerated ray tracing, making it ideal for games.
It is also rumored to support titles like PUBG Mobile, PUBG New State, Genshin Impact, and LoL Mobile where it will be able to run at a pretty smooth 144 fps with frame interpolation, so if you are a mobile gamer and those are some of the games you play often, then maybe the iQOO 12 could be a phone worth checking out if you’re looking for better immersion.
The phone is expected to be launched in China first before it is globally launched in 2024. Either way, take it with a grain of salt but if the 7th of November launch date is accurate, we should have more details in the coming weeks.
