While Samsung’s current crop of Exynos chipsets may not be the fan-favourite SoCs that they once were among enthusiasts, the company has nevertheless continued to pump out chip after chip, and there are even rumors that we might see Samsung’s 2024 flagship come equipped with an Exynos processor inside.
With that in mind, it looks like Samsung is preparing to launch another Exynos chip, at least according to a listing spotted online via Geekbench. Known as the Exynos 1480, it’s expected that the chip might be used in Samsung’s upcoming midrange smartphones in the coming months.
The listing shows a Geekbench single core score of 882, and a multi-core score of 2808. Additionally, the chipset will work alongside an Xclipse 530 GPU, and consists of four efficiency cores clocked at 2.05GHz, and the other four performance core clocked at 2.75GHz.
As per recent Samsung tradition, it’s expected that Samsung might pack the Exynos 1480 alongside the Samsung Galaxy A55, which will take over the Samsung Galaxy A54’s spot in Samsung’s A-series lineup for 2024. Of course, nothing “official” has been mentioned by Samsung yet regarding this new leak, although it shouldn’t be surprising if this were indeed the case.
