Following a teaser announcement from Xiaomi’s CEO about the company’s new Hyper OS software interface, it looks like several screenshots of the upcoming UI have been leaked online. The images were spotted on Chinese social media site Weibo, giving us a sneak peek of what to expect.
The different images show screenshots of the Hyper OS drop-down menu, app drawer, weather app, as well as a calendar app, to name a few. With that being said, the design is unmistakably “Xiaomi,” given the visual similarities with MIUI. Based on how early these leaks arrived, it seems that some Weibo users managed to get their hands on Hyper OS earlier than expected.
While MIUI was undoubtedly unique in its own way thanks to a focus on customizability, it wasn’t the most efficient Android skin, with users complaining of occasional bugs and glitches with everyday use. As such, many are hoping that Hyper OS comes with a ton of improvements to performance and efficiency.
Hyper OS was first officially hinted to by a Tweet from Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, who stated that Hyper OS comes as a result of several years’ work. The new interface is expected to be officially (and fully) unveiled on October 27.
