While WhatsApp is one of the most-used instant messengers around the world at the moment, it is lacking in features that we’ve seen in other messaging apps. If one of those features you’re missing is the ability to schedule an event, then you’re in luck.
The folks at WABetaInfo have discovered in the latest version of the WhatsApp beta that the company is finally looking to bring event scheduling to the app. This means that users will be able to create event schedules within the messaging app, like an upcoming meeting, a holiday with friends or family, a birthday, and so on.
This will be useful, especially amongst your WhatsApp contacts. This is because while there are other scheduling apps and services like Google Calendar, not everyone might use Google Calendar and could miss out on the reminder as a result. At least this way, as long as you use WhatsApp, it will remind you of the upcoming event.
It also appears that WhatsApp is giving users the option of adding a location for the reminder, just in case people forget the address of the location, and also a video call option in case you’re scheduling an event for a group meeting or maybe a catch up with friends and so on.
