The continued adoption of AI software features into smartphones only seems like a proper evolution in terms of what modern handsets are capable of, as seen with Google’s recent demonstration of the Pixel 8’s AI functions. As such, we’ve seen a ton of other companies integrate AI into their products including mobile SoCs, apps, and more.
With that in mind, it looks like Samsung is also trying to stay ahead of the game, at least according to a prediction from online tech leaker Ice Universe. While Samsung’s primary smart assistant Bixby is quite capable, it still has a bit of a way to go before being able to catch up to more fleshed-out AI capabilities.
One UI 6.1 and the Galaxy S24 series bring many new AI features, AI more powerful than Bixby, and Samsung’s largest AI update in history.
Maybe Samsung will call the Galaxy S24 an AI phone.— ICE UNIVERSE (@UniverseIce) October 9, 2023
According the the post, One UI 6.1 alongside the upcoming Galaxy S24 series will come with new and powerful AI features, and is described at the moment as “Samsung’s largest AI update” in history. The post even goes so far as to suggest that Samsung might refer to the S24 series as an AI phone.
With that being said, no other details or specifics were mentioned in the post, but given the advancement of mobile AI (as well as AI in general these days), it shouldn’t be too surprising to see Samsung come up with competitive AI software baked into its upcoming products.
In other Samsung-related news, the company recently unveiled its latest One UI 6 update for its smart device lineup, which brings along a ton of new features and functionality.
