Samsung could be getting into cloud gaming

With its amazing hardware, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is easily one of the best smartphones for gaming out there today, but unfortunately not everyone can afford a smartphone that costs over $1,000.

There are many people out there who want a smartphone for under $1000, which sometimes means buying either a mid-range or entry-level handset that might not be the best when it comes to games. It looks like Samsung might have the answer to that problem.

According to a report from the Korea Economic Daily, they claim that Samsung is apparently working on a cloud gaming service that is expected to launch on the 5th of October. This service is said to be aimed solely at smartphones, at least at launch, but who knows, maybe it could make its way to PCs as well.

Not much else is known about this rumored service, but apparently Samsung is already in talks with various developers to port their titles to the cloud to make them playable at launch. Samsung would not be the first to launch a cloud gaming service. Microsoft already has one and Google attempted something similar with Stadia, which was ultimately shut down.

We’re not sure what Samsung could do differently that would lead to their own service being a success, so if the 5th of October launch date is accurate, we should have more details in the coming days.
