Not too long after several promotional images, hardware specifications and price details about the Pixel 8 series phones were leaked, it looks like a new set of photos once again show Google’s Pixel 8 Pro in the flesh, courtesy of new hands-on images of the device.
Originally spotted in a Facebook post, the photos show the black variant of the Pixel 8 Pro, which reveals the matte finish on the rear panel of the phone. Starting from the Pixel 6 series onwards, Google has mostly stuck to using glossy glass finishes on its flagships, although the Pixel 8 Pro heralds a much-welcome return to a non-glossy finish.
Based on the images, it looks like the photos were taken in Vietnam. It’s also worth noting that the 8 Pro will retain the glossy metal finish on the camera bar, at least based on what we can see on these new photos. The hands-on images follow a massive leak that revealed the specs sheet and pricing of Google’s upcoming smartphones, which were shared online by leaker Kamila Wojciechowska.
The new Pixel phones will be powered by Google’s Tensor G3 chip, and are expected to be priced at $699/£699 for the base model Pixel 8, and $899/£899 for the Pixel 8 Pro, based on the previous leaks.
