Recently at IFA 2023 earlier this month, Honor took the wraps off an interesting foldable phone called the Honor V Purse. It is similar to some of the company’s other foldables, like the Honor Magic V, except that it has been designed to act like a purse, turning it into a fashion accessory as well.
At the time of the announcement, the handset was positioned as a concept device meaning that it wouldn’t be available for sale, but it seems like Honor could have had a change of heart. The company has since officially announced the Honor V Purse’s launch in China where customers will be able to buy it.
In terms of specs, the Honor V Purse will feature a 7.71-inch foldable display with a 90Hz refresh rate. It will also sport a 6.45-inch outer display. Under the hood, the handset will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G chipset, which is kind of odd for a 2023 smartphone, but presumably it is done to keep prices low.
It will also come with 16GB of RAM, 256GB or 512GB of storage, a dual camera system consisting of a 50MP main and a 12MP ultrawide, and an 8MP front-facing shooter. There will also be a 4,500mAh battery with 35W charging. As the handset is positioned as being a fashion accessory similar to a purse, there will be various straps options for users to choose from, and wallpapers to decorate the outer display of the phone.
As for pricing, the Honor V Purse is priced starting at 5,999 yuan for the 256GB model, and 6,599 yuan for the 512GB model. For now, it looks like it will only be available in China but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more info about potential global availability.
